The 45-floor, triangular shape of the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort is designed to give a superb view of the Pacific Ocean, and is connected to the 5000-seat World Convention Center, which hosted the G8 Summit. Built in 1994, this resort has come to symbolize Miyazaki.
The resort offers the Ocean Club, an athlethic club and lounge. The fitness club provides guests with a wide range of services and amenities, which include indoor swimming, skin-friendly mist sauna, shoes and swimsuits, aromatherapy, nail care and waxing, a training room, foot bath, massage, refloxology, aesthetic services, and a healing program. The hotel is also home to the Paradise Garden Orchid Pavilion. Around 150 kinds of orchids from all around the world are exhibited here. There are also many gift shops that sell beautiful potted plants, as well as flowers arranged in vases. In addition, guests can enjoy the Paradise Garden Amusement Pavilion. This facility features Sega World, consisting of a family game zone, high tech zone, and a coin game zone.
