The main building was built with the classical comfort of Meiju-era architectural style, while the new building/wing was built in the Yoshino-style, an architectural style that is unique to this area. With over 90 years of history, the hotel is designed to look traditionally Japanese, but the service and facilities provided are of international class standard. Guest rooms are spacious with high ceilings and overlook the park surrounding the hotel. This property was renovated in 1984.

The hotel is located on the hill within the well-known tourist attraction Nara Park, which is famous for its wildlife deer. The hotel is also within walking distance to many tourist attractions, such as Jodaiji temple and Kofuku temple pagoda.
